About the Business

Anthea Cull and her family moved from Manchester in 1983 to Loststock Gralam, to the quiet suburb which is where she eventually settled. Northwich offered little in the way of exercise, there was no local gym or exercise programmes available for ladies to relax and be pampered. After her daughter started at Cransley School, Anthea joined a few local classes in fitness and beauty. Exercise is imperative to Anthea as she ran for Manchester as a teenager, but nothing excited her and she set about researching alternative keep fit programmes for like-minded people. Toning tables were the way forward, slower stretching exercises that toned and streamlined the female form without the intimidation of a gymnasium. IN 1990 INCHES WAS BORN. It was the first ladies-only gym in Northwich. Her first premises were in Witton St, above what is now the Subway sandwich shop. As many old customers will well remember it was the only fitness centre with toning tables and sun beds.
